TRANSITION AND SPECIALISATION COURSE
The Ex-Police and Prison Personnel Affairs Division is responsible for organising courses for police and prison personnel two years before they retire. The courses conducted are:-
This course exposes prospective retirees to the formation of a positive attitude that will help them cope with the challenges of retirement.
It is organised for senior police officers and rank and file personnel.
It is conducted by consultants appointed by the Procurement Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
These skill courses are organised for prospective retirees with the aim of enhancing their level of knowledge and skills in fields of specialisation identified for them after their retirement.
These courses are conducted by government agencies and the Department of Agriculture. Among the skill courses provided are:-
          i)  Fresh Water Fish Rearing Course
          ii)  Interaction with Leading Entrepreneurs
 These transition and specialisation courses are open to police and prison personnel who will be retiring.
 
POLICE HERITAGE TRUST FUND (PHTF)
 
The Police Heritage Trust Fund (PHTF) was set up through a deed of trust on 14 September 1992 specifically to provide assistance to retired police officers and personnel including their dependants. There are 5 types of assistance available under the trust fund: 
 
PHTF 1 ÔÇô Death benefit
 
Special Conditions:
 
PHTF 2 ÔÇô Mobility Assistance (once only)
 
Special Conditions:
               i)  Spouse of ex-police personnel
               ii) Widow/widower of ex-police personnel
              iii)  Disabled children of ex-police personnel
              iv) Inability to finance expenses and not in receipt of other assistance
              v)  Assistance is provided once only for each item
 
┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á PHTF┬á 3 ÔÇô Medical & artificial limb assistance
 
Special Conditions:
               i) Spouse of ex-police personnel
              ii) Widow/widower of ex-police personnel
              iii) Dependent disabled children of ex-police personnel
 
┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á PHTF 4 ÔÇô Educational assistance (once only)
Special Conditions:
          a) Copy of letter of confirmation from:-
              Primary level                   -           Confirmation of head teacher
              Secondary level            -           Confirmation of principal
             Tertiary level                   -           Confirmation of Student Affairs Division of institute of higher learning 
         b) Copy of identity card and birth certificate of student
         c) Submit certified copy of letter of offer of admission.
 
┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á PHTF 5 ÔÇô Disaster Assistance (once only)┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á
Maximum limit RM 5,000.00 
 
Special Conditions:
 
                                          i.        Copy of police report and district welfare officer report
                                          ii.       Copy of police report as well as welfare officer report
                                         iii.       Photographs of damage to property/residence
                                         iv.       Application in the year the disaster occurred
                                          v.      PHTF 5 assistance is also available for:-

                        HOW TO APPLY:
 
 
iii. WARRIOR AND NATIONAL DEFENCE TRUST FUND
 
Processing of applications under the Warrior and National Defence Trust Fund for police, RELA and the Civil Defence Department officers/personnel injured or killed in the line of duty, in appreciation of their contributions and sacrifice. Applications may be made in the case of:-
 
(i)Death
(ii)  Severe injury
(which results in the loss of sight in both eyes leading to difficulty in earning a living, loss of both legs and/or paralysis from the waist down)
(iii) Severe injury
(which results in permanent disability that forces retirement from service)
(iv)   Permanent severe injury
(but still able to serve)
(v)    Severe injury
(vi)   Light injury
(vii)  Orthopaedic equipment
