TERMS TO APPLY FOR PRIVATE AGENCY LICENCE UNDER THE PRIVATE AGENCY ACT 1971
According to the Private Agency Act 1971:
Licence 2(a)
Providing personal guard and protection for the safety of somebody else or safety of property or other peoples business
Licence 2(b)
Gathering and giving information about behaviour, activities or other peoples business
The Ministry of Home Affairs states the application for Private Agency under Section 3, Private Agency Act 1971 for the application of Licence 2(a) or Licence 2 (b) is under such terms:-
Copy of business plan working paper together with the biodata of share holders and Board of Directors.
One of the share holder is at least a former high ranking officer of the Police or army of Malaysia with the least rank of Senior Assistant Commisioner (SAC) or Brigadier Jeneral (BrigJen) who owns 30% of company share equity; OR One is at least a former public officer in the management and professional group and has served in security sector for at least five (5) years with the rank grade 54 or has a certificate of security course or at the same level and holds 30% of the company share equity.
Must form private limited company
Has a paying capital of RM600,000.00
The share is hold by bumiputera 70%
For Licence 2(b), the Ministry of Home Affairs has stated terms as such :-
Copy of business plan working paper
One of the share holder is at least a former high ranking officer of the Police or army of Malaysia with the least rank of ASP OR Captain who owns 30% of company share equity.
